It’s that lovely time of year, the birds are singing happily and are starting to prepare their nests, blossom is starting to appear on the trees, and next week is officially the start of Spring. Now is a great time to shake off any Winter weariness  and put a spring back in our step by starting to prepare the garden for the longer and brighter days that lie ahead.

Good jobs to do in the garden around this time include:

  1.  Pruning climbing Roses and Bush Roses.
  2. Mow the lawn on dry days.
  3. Top dress containers with fresh compost.
  4. Divide and lift overgrown Perennials.
  5. Plant Summer flowering bulbs.
