It is now the beginning of August and as the weather turns hot and sunny, many of the regular flowers can come to an early end, particularly if they are not watered regularly. So what flowers can we add to our borders that actively like or are happy to tolerate the hot August sunshine?
Here are a few examples:
- Salvia
- Coreopsis
- Coneflower (Echinacea)
- Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia)
- Sedum
- Dianthus
- Daylily
- Artemesia
- Iceplant (Delosperma)
- Blanket Flower (Gallardia)
- Dahlia
The picture above is of the Coneflower (Echinacea).
